SHIFT: PRNSCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

- Conducts regular and thorough patrols throughout the interior and exterior of the Emergency Department noting present and potential safety, fire, or security hazards and taking appropriate corrective action
- Responds to calls for assistance with combative patients and disorderly persons to include assisting EMS staff with control and monitoring of Baker Act patients.
- Serves as a visible representative of the facility. Assists patients, visitors and staff in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Collects and compiles information to complete a variety of reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Responds to emergency situations in order to resolve any incident that could potentially harm staff, patients, and visitors. Calls for assistance as needed.
- Conducts investigations of all items reported stolen in order to aid staff and patients in recovering articles
- Monitors and promotes compliance with policies such as parking, solicitation, smoking and visiting hours
- Escorts visitors, patients and staff to vehicles as requested
- Notifies Security or provides assistance to individuals having vehicular problems (Dead batteries, flat tires, etc) as needed
- Responds to fire alarms when needed
- Documents all incidents and emergencies in departmental log
- Displays neat and well-groomed appearance and wears appropriate uniform at all times
Qualifications
- Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office sworn Police Officer abiding by the Office of the Sheriff Secondary Employment general order required
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
