    SUMMARY

    The Director of Purchasing is tasked with assessing, implementing, and managing all parts of ordering, receiving, sorting and delivering items throughout the Campus. The Director of Purchasing is a seasoned professional with a track record of success in a fast-paced environment including developing people, safety performance, managing change, cost improvements and developing and sustaining effective vendor relationships. This position oversees the management of purchasing functions and directs activities so that approved products are shipped on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objective

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    Responsible for the development and formulation of long-and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives for the purchasing functions.Develop a strategic and timely purchasing plan to ensure that products align to quality standards.Review performance against operating plans and standards; provides reports on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans.Formulate and recommend policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the manufacturing facility.Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of purchasing and inventory standards.Understand profit and loss, accounting functions and the relationship of operational activities and decisions.Negotiate agreements with vendors and collaboration partners.Secures appropriate product samples, as needed, which are representative of production for qualification.Assume ultimate ownership of all commercial relationships with suppliers. Secure targeted levels of cost, quality, lead times, and delivery metrics. Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.Responsible for the acquirement of Health System supplies.Performs other related duties as required.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all workers for quality and completion of work

    ·Supervise and delegate appropriate workload to staff.

    ·Coach and maintain a culture of training and accountability for performance.

    ·Maintain and submit all payroll and employment changes.

    ·Complete employee reviews within a timely manner.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field of study with a focus on supply chain management and/or sourcing and procurement principles.Minimum 8 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting. Purchasing experience in the Health Care industry preferred.Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to coordinate and direct teams/external partners and resourcesAbility to create and manage program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
