Under the direction of the Sr Mgr Merch Support & Reporting the Merch Support Specialist will be responsible for executing key operational support activities and reporting for the QVC or HSN Multiplatform Buying Teams. Job Description Details Day in the Life Support Merchandising Division Brand Operations and Reporting needs Supports Clear Skies Goals and Efforts Works Towards Continuous Improvement Relationship Building Serve as primary point of contact for merchandising division and brand based on requests from vendors, internal partners and merchandising Special Projects as required to support Buying and Business Development including Project Clear Skies Continuously seeks out opportunities to assist Merchant Team Partners Support Merchandising Division Brand Operations and Reporting needs that include but aren’t limited to: Act as the point person for the buying team to resolve operational issues; including the documenting, tracking, follow up and resolution. Act as the point person for the vendors facing challenging operational issues that haven’t been resolved via traditional vendor point of contact list. Tracks and reports on-going issues to identify strengths and gaps of current Merchandising and cross functional processes. Partners with Merch team to inform process or system enhancements or needs Support reporting needs for designated merchandising division and brand Builds and maintains templates and tools to help facilitate UPC/GTIN codes into QxH systems. Assists in Accounts Payable inquiries as needed Special Projects as required to support Buying and Business Development including Project Clear Skies Continuously seeks out opportunities to assist Merchant Team Partners Creating and maintaining master templates for cross functional data and item requests (events, marketing, key drivers, etc) Other duties as requested Supports Clear Skies Goals and Efforts: Assists in maintaining RACI Models & ensuring accuracy Accountable for the tracking, documenting, and education related to clear skies tasks Supports the effort for the Merchants to ‘Let it Go’ and trust the hand offs Partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, QA, and Vendors to ensure Clear Skies objectives are met Maintains Merchant Point of Contact Documents Works Towards Continuous Improvement: Identifies process or system gaps Suggests enhancements to improve effectiveness and efficiency Serve as subject matter expert working with Merchandising and other internal and external partners including-Supply Chain, Operations, Vendors, Legal to support effective flow of information Relationship Building: Collaborates with Merchandising team partners Builds and maintains internal and external relationships Shares in their Merchandising Team’s wins and challenges Communicates with professionalism and clarity Must Haves Bachelor’s Degree Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant work experience working with QxH Merchandising systems and processes as part of buying or merchandising role Has tactical knowledge of QVC and/or HSN systems to execute key merchant operational support activities Strong communication skills – ability to work with various merchandising and operations partners to understand needs and meet requests Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with several different parties and adjusting communication style according to audience to ensure clarity of message Time Management: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and address demands from internal and external stakeholders Analytical Skills: Ability to manage work scope, ensure work quality and schedule, deal with escalations, work with clients and internal stakeholders to remove roadblocks, when needed, work with team to identify necessary workarounds and schedule adjustments to ensure successful Project delivery A solid understanding of key merchandising systems at QVC and/or HSN Solution and customer focused to work with business and other internal partners (Operations, Supply Chain, QA, Legal etc) to identify needs and best solutions and outcomes Experienced with merchandising systems and processes for QVC and HSN brands Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results Ability to quickly analyze data/situations and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business in a complex environment Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to access information using automated systems (e.g., windows based computer) Ability to make oral and written presentations; ability and confidence to present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner Nice to Haves Retail-related experience preferred About HSN, Inc.
