Social Protection Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean
The World Food Programme (Panama Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean) is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified individuals for future consultancies in the region.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Depending on your experience level and expertise areas, you will be involved to a greater or lesser degree in work related, but not limited, to the following:
- Development of a wide variety of projects, plans, and processes, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and guidance relevant to social protection.
- Project management of social protection programmes and activities, ensuring a coordinated approach that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
- Research and analysis of a range of policy and operational issues to inform the development of in-country social protection policies, strategies, programmes, and activities.
- Development and coordination of data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that quality standards are maintained for social protection programmes and activities.
- Preparation of accurate and timely reporting on social protection programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Consolidation, development, and dissemination of knowledge products pertinent to social protection.
- Effective collaboration, monitoring of ongoing interventions, and identification and management of risks.
- Identification, development, and management of external partnerships for improved support to national social protection.
- Capacity strengthening of WFP personnel, partners, and national governments to identify and address in-country social protection needs, e.g. by providing inputs into specific social protection guidance materials and/or learning initiatives.
