The World Food Programme (Panama Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean) is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified individuals for future consultancies in the region.
JOB PURPOSE
To contribute to formulation and implementation of WFP’s Cash Based Transfers (CBT) programme strategy.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Depending on your experience level and expertise areas, you will be involved to a greater or lesser degree in work related, but not limited, to the following:
- Formulation and implementation of WFP’s CBT programme strategy in line with the organisational strategy, WFP-wide programme policies and context at Country Office level; translation of the CBT strategy and WFP-wide programme policies into Regional/Country level practices.
- Design of operations inspired by the principle of cost-efficiency and effectiveness. Proactive juggling of transfer modalities to reach the most appropriate choice for a defined context.
- Coordination of Country Office units (e.g. Logistics, Procurement, ICT, Finance, M&E and VAM (food security analysis)) to ensure synchronized technical backstopping and compliance with corporate policy, strategic objectives, guidance, and incorporation of gender perspectives in programme design, intervention set-up and implementation of CBT operations.
- Setting of programme objectives as guiding lines all over the intervention for all functional.
- Enhancement of WFP’s leadership status in forums relating to CBT and wider programme policy focus areas such as food security, nutrition, livelihoods, resilience or engagement in humanitarian, transition and development contexts through direct participation, briefings, information products, and other materials.
- Maintenance of close contact with key partners and advise on opportunities for strategic collaboration; for example, assistance to counterparts in governments and/or other stakeholders in identifying where CBT interventions can be usefully employed and provide support and technical expertise for the planning, formulation, and implementation of CBT programmes.
